What You'll Learn in This Course

Welcome to Natural Soapmaking for Beginners

Have you ever wanted to learn to make handmade soap to blend pure oils and ingredients together into natural cleansers that you can use in your own home or to start a small business?

I'm Tanya Anderson, and I'm a soap maker. I'm an organic gardener, an author, a YouTube creator, and I'm here to help.

I taught myself how to make handmade soap in 2010, a good long while ago, and after that, I started up a small business, and I've also been teaching people how to make handmade soap in in-person workshops and also through my websites and ebooks. and now I'm going to be teaching you how to make handmade soap as well.

In this course, you will learn to make four natural, cold-process soap recipes, and I will guide you through the process of making each. That includes going over the equipment and ingredients you'll need, how to set up your soap-making station in your kitchen, and following through with showing exactly how to make each batch of soap step by step. I'll then show you how to cure and store the soap afterward.

The four soap recipes that you are about to learn to make will not only guide you through the cold process soap making method, but you'll be introduced to a wide range of natural soap ingredients. Things like clay as a soap colorant, essential oils for scent, goat milk, and how to use things like dried flower petals in soap recipes.

The recipes include herbal soap with peppermint, lavender, and rosemary. It's a simple and beautiful recipe that you can even use fresh herbs from your garden to make.

Next, we'll make a floral soap recipe using French pink clay, rose petals, and an aromatic rose geranium, lavender, and clary sage essential oil blend. You'll learn how to add clay to soap recipes and the ins and outs of using dried flowers as soap decorations.

The third soap we'll make is a simple and nourishing goat milk soap recipe. Goat milk is a favorite ingredient in natural soap making, with good reason.

The last recipe is a calendula flower soap with homemade calendula-infused oil and a zesty citrus essential oil for scents.

By the end of this course, you'll not only know how to make these four soap recipes, but you'll have a solid understanding of the cold process soap making method, the ingredients that we use, and you'll be able to use that to go on to make many more soap recipes.
